Room rental · FAQ
Practitioner Questions
Everything practitioners ask before their first booking, answered plainly.
Who is allowed to rent the room?
Practitioners holding a current New York State licence for the modality they intend to practise — LMT, esthetician, licensed acupuncturist — plus PMU artists with a current NYC DOHMH tattoo artist licence. Reiki and energy practitioners who are not state-licensed can usually be accommodated, but we review certification and insurance first.
What insurance do I need?
Professional liability insurance in your own name, current for the dates you book, covering every modality you will practise in the room. Student policies and policies naming a former employer do not qualify. For PMU or microblading the schedule must name that service explicitly.
What do I have to submit, and how long does approval take?
Send your licence, your insurance certificate, photo ID and a one-line description of your services to {{SITE_B_EMAIL}}. Verification normally takes one business day, after which you self-book from the calendar without asking us each time.
Is there a minimum commitment or membership fee?
No. You can book a single hour, and there is no membership, joining fee or monthly minimum.
What is provided in the room?
Heated spa bed, facial steamer, hot stone warmer with stones, hot towel warmer with towels, fresh laundered linens for every booking, sink access, hospital-grade disinfectant, gloves and paper towel, a rolling stool and trolley, dimmable lighting and a Bluetooth speaker.
What should I bring?
Your own oils, lotions, skincare or needles, any modality-specific devices, and your own client intake and payment process. We supply the room and the linens, not your product line.
Can I leave equipment or product here between bookings?
A single shelf is usually fine by arrangement, and lockable storage can be arranged for practitioners who rent regularly. Anything left on open shelving between bookings gets moved to the office, because the next practitioner needs the surface.
How does the 12-hour cancellation policy apply to my clients?
The policy is between us and you, not us and your client. If your client cancels on you four hours before their appointment, your room block is still inside our 12-hour window and is still charged. Practitioners handle this by running their own cancellation policy with their clients on the same or a tighter window, which is why we publish ours plainly.
How much turnaround time should I allow between clients?
Five to eight minutes to strip linens, wipe down and reset, plus your own intake. Most practitioners booking back-to-back reserve 75 to 90 minutes per 60-minute client — for massage and facial practitioners, the spa room rental durations (75, 90, 105 and 120 minutes) are built around exactly that spacing.
Can two practitioners work at once?
No. There is one treatment room and one table, so bookings are sequential. If you work with an assistant, that is fine — they are covered by your booking and your insurance.
Where do my clients wait, and is there a receptionist?
There is a seated waiting area outside the suite. There is no receptionist, so tell your clients the address, the fifth floor and suite 501 when you confirm, and collect them yourself.
What equipment is prohibited?
Lasers of any class, IPL, radiofrequency devices, injectables, direct or smoky moxibustion, acrylic nail monomer and drill work, and anything requiring dedicated exhaust ventilation. If you are unsure about a specific device, ask before you book rather than after.
What are the access hours?
9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm at weekends. Out-of-hours blocks can sometimes be arranged and are quoted separately.
How do I pay?
Through the booking calendar at the time of reservation. Practitioners who rent regularly can move to monthly invoicing in arrears once their licence and insurance file is complete.
